I Was Saving That...

I think this image is highly relevant to me.

In other news, nearly completed my "Nature" essay, I hit a bit of a mental block this evening in the library, but still got a fair bit done. About another 500 words should do the job. Apart from that, roll on tomorrow night!

Cheers,

Matt.

PS:Happy Birthday Mark Campbell.

Olympic Airways.

FUCKING XBOX PROFILE HAS BECOME CORRUPT. LOST ALL MY SAVED GAMES AND GAMER POINTS. ARGH!

I can't even bare to look at Half Life 2 knowing that I was so close to completing it and then having to start all over again. Fecksake. I've decided I'm going to go back to the games that I haven't played in a long time, Bioshock and Mass Effect. Hopefully be able to see them to the end, unlike last time I played them.

Anyways, I shouldn't be writing this. I should be writing about Heisenberg's statement that; ‘What we observe is not nature itself, but nature exposed to our method of questioning’. This is one filthy, filthy essay that I'm writing. 2000 words. Roughly about 200 done so far. Nice? Aye...

Sitting in ELTC with about 3 other people in this massive computer room listening to the wonderful sounds of Foals while procrastinating and somehow regurgitating crap to fill out my essay.

Oh well, fun times to look ahead to:

  • Two Door Cinema Club gig (Supporting Dan Black) on Thursday 7th May.
  • Impending boozay sesh on Thursday to (hopefully) mark the end of my essay and of course, to celebrate Mark's birthday.
  • Another Two Door gig on 27th May with Panama Kings.
  • General Uni fun, but not exams.
I'm quite proud of my efforts so far for this essay, already declined a night out last night at the SU and the movies with Kris and Boydo tonight. If I had done both of those I would have felt mightily guilty, but yeah, my guilt of not doing work has been toned down by my self discipline - Not that that has meant I've been writing reams and reams of fantastic essay-ness!

Oh well, back to Open Office...

Cheers,

Matt.

A to Z Update.

Ok, so I've watched a just under a third of my A to Z list since 5th April. Hmm, that seems a lot longer away that it actually is...Works out to be around a movie every 2 days or so. Anywho, I'll leave a little mark to denote the movies that I have watched so far.

I hope to shortly summerise the watched movies in the not too distant future, but I shall leave it for now. Might do a massive round up once all have been viewed!

A - Akira
B - Blood Diamond
C - Crash
D - The Departed
E - Edward Scissor Hands
F - Full Metal Jacket
G - Gone Baby Gone
H - High School Musical
I - Into The Wild
J - Jerry Maguire
K - Kidulthood
L - Layer Cake
M - Memento
N - No Country For Old Men
O - One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest
P - The Prestige
Q - Quantum Of Solace
R - The Ring
S - A Scanner Darkly
T - Traffic
U - The Usual Suspects
V - Vanilla Sky
W - Wall-E
X -
Y - Yesman
Z -

Currently got about 3 or 4 downloaded and ready to watch and I began watching Memento last night but turned off after 30 minutes after I realised it was something silly like 5AM...

PS: Still need an "X" and a "Z"...

Cheers,

Matt.

Lady Gaga Is A Dick.

I know it's a little lengthy, but watch it anyways if you have the time to spare. She's an absolute wench! Trying to act all kooky and odd, turned out to make her a complete tool. The interview felt like a waste of time! Bah!

Cheers,

Matt.

Full Stops and Exclamation Marks.

Yesterday I was 11 years old again. Was so much fun.

I am currently writing this while still in bed after a beaut Pitstop All Day Breakfast Roll and the camcream partially still all over my face. A good group of us headed to Jonny Weir's farm and got all geared up for some games of CTF/Hide and Seek/Hunt. I went all out and wore all my old CCF Army kit, which, if I remember correctly should have been handed in about 5 years ago, haha. But yeah, all camoflaged up and took a dander into some nearby forest and fucked about in it for the next 2 hours or so. Had a brilliant laugh, only downside was that it was still kinda light.

After a good few games in the forest, we headed back to the house and had a BBQ/Chinese Takeaway, was a real banquet of sorts! Then after that feast we headed out into the yard and surrounding fields for some more hide and seek-esque games, was so much better in the dark but after 2 or so games people were beginning to get pretty tired, so we called it a night.

So far, it's been a pretty good Easter. I've only had one boring day so far and my brothers came home today so got the XBox back for the timebeing. Completed Portal the other day, it really is outstanding. Still making progress on Half Life 2 then onto Ep1 and Ep2.

Here's a fucking brilliant song, albeit a remix, but the original is just as good;

Dingle Is Innocent.

Oh my Christ, Bangor was horrendous last night. It was nothing short of a sess pit of underage delinquents from Belfast or scummy parts of Bangor.

Bouncers, not just in Bangor, need to get a pair of proper working eyeballs. Their employers also need them to take IQ tests, as clearly some of the men employed about the place are just plain retarded. They'll let little rats in who are no more than a day older than 15 and enter their clubs, get madly drunk and more than likely cause a whole load of shit.

Seriously, seriously disappointed last night. Denied from Betty Blacks and ended up in Donegans, which may as well have been a Youth Club last night. Put me right out of the mood to drink.

Anywho, short rant is over. Off to Jonny Weir's to relax and chill with friends.

Cheers,

Matt.

RIP Katie Hughes of Bangor.

Take Me Out.

Missing 2 people very much right now. This sucks.

Procol Harum - A Whiter Shade Of Pale.

Right now this song fits my mood.

No idea why I'm adding this image here. I saw it a few days ago and it made me smile. I guess this is a suitable medium to share it to everyone (As if people actually read this blog!)

And after looking at the preview of this entry, it's a very messy one and I'm not happy with it. But alas, it's probably a representation of how I'm feeling right now. Bah.

Cheers,

Matt.

Hartlepool, Country Durham.

This shall be tomorrow's festivities. Heading up to Mark's and "drink off" commences at around 3. I'd say it'll be about 6 and we'll be steaming. Some job bays.

Words of Ethan MacNamara; Let us get boozay.

  • When a goal is scored: Drink one shot of your drink.
  • Every sending off: One shot of your drink.
  • When ever Chris Kamara appears: You must be drinking.
  • If Paul Merson used stupid rhyming slang (ie: "He's hit the beans on toast!") One shot of your own drink.
  • Whenever Phil Thompson says "Stevie Gerrard!": Three shots of your own drink.
  • Every time a team scores and Jess says: "There's been a goal at ... but which way has it gone?": Everyone must guess which team has scored, everyone who gets it wrong must drink two shots of your own drink. Non guesses must also drink.
  • When your team score: Two extra shots of your own drink.
  • Whenever Jeff says: "They'll be dancing in the streets of ...": One shot of spirit.
  • When someone claims to have seen a "Goal conteder for goal of the season": One shot of your own drink.
  • Whenever Jeff says: "It's all doom and gloom at ...": One shot of spirit.
  • Everytime Robbie Savage is mentioned or seen on the Videprinter, everyone must shout "FUCK": Last person to do so must drink three shots of alcohol of choice.
  • When a pundit shouts off camera: Two shots of your own drink.
  • Whenever Jeff says: "There's no question": One shot of spirit
  • Everytime Brighton&Hove or Dagenham&Redbridge are jokingly reffered as two different teams playing the same opposition: One shot of your own drink.
  • Whenever Chris Kamara says: "UNBELIEVABLE!": All drinks must be downed.

Coffee and TV.

God dammit, I woke up at 3PM today. Epic fail.

Windows Vista Home Premium.

Hmm, I think I promised myself that I'd report about how the "fitness" is going...It's "OK". Haha. I've been keeping to some form of routine: Getting up relatively early, taking dogs out and then going for a jog or run. Only little problem I've come across is the order of these events...Oh well. Top marks for effort, right?

Monday's Half Price Wine was grand. Nothing awesome to report, just a decent night. Was nice to see people from years above mine and get a wee catch up and stuff. Had a good crowd round to my house beforehand for a few drinks. Smart thinking you see - People leave their leftover drinks at my house and I reap the rewards! Haha.Following on from the fairly mediocre night, Lauren, Julie and I came back to mine and just sat and chatted. Apparently lots of people were going back to a "friends" house, but, eh, neh thanks m8 eyo. So yeah, sat here and chatted, Lauren passed out as she was supposedly "tired" - Yeah right! Haha.

Been spending a good while on Jack's laptop. Reformatting after he got fucked over by spyware/malware/antivirus/general shite. It's such a pain in the ass. I've downloaded Vista and burnt it onto two Doovdes but they bloody well won't work when I change the boot up sequence. Frustrated loads last night, but I do suppose that's because I was doing it at like 3 in the morning. Oh well, shall do some research and try again tonight after the movies.

Anywho, things in general are going great. Weather was a bit shite yesterday but today has redeemed it. Weather makes such a difference to everything like...I suppose it was fitting I was a little hungover for the shitty weather yesterday! Anywho, listen to this song and tell me it doesn't make you smile or feel happy:

The Four Tops - I Can't Help Myself (Sugar Pie, Honey Bunch)

Brilliant!

Cheers,

Matt.

Eggs.

Easter is upon us and school is out and Matthew needs a routine set up.

I think for the first time ever, my body has accepted that it shall not get the 8 hours that it so often yearns for. Instead, it shall receive a questionable amount of around 4 hours. This is great though, as my body has recognised that my alarm WILL go off at 8AM every morning, so now I always wake up at 7:56AM. Always. Then, as it is technically holiay period, I sleep for another hour before feeling really awake at around 9 or 10. It's brilliant. No longer am I dragging myself out of bed, instead I'm ready to get up and go.

This therefore means a relatively longer day. Therefore Matty needs a routine. So far I have decided that I shall take Libby and Murphy, the 2 canines, out for a morning stroll - Whatever the weather - And then come back, make some form of meal which will most definately consist of ham, cheese, bacon, Reggae Reggae Sauce and whatever else I can get my mitts on. After that, I think some exercise shall be in order.

Jogging, or maybe it's Jyogging, it could be a silent "j", shall be my exercising. I'm half tempted to invest into some weights or something, but I've always hated that. Maybe push ups, sit ups and all that jazz. I want to feel good and healthy. I need to come up with a set path or route for going out. Had a brilliant one which I used very, very sporadically up in Belfast and I need to conjure something similar.

This is all the plan anyway, and I hope I can stick at it. I'll also try to blog more, write up shit and put some effort into this. I'd promise a self evaluation of tomorrow (Monday) but as most of my blogs are written late at night and oneself is attending Cafe for some Half Price Wine, I doubt I shall be in either A: A fit state, B: Near my Laptop or C: In my own house, possibly.

Cheers,

Matt.

Note to self: Find a job too.

A to Z.

I've been toying with the idea of watching movies that I have not yet seen and figured a good way to make a start through the infinite list, would be to make an A to Z list and work my way along.

This is how the list is currently going;

A - Akira
B - Blood Diamond
C - Crash
D - The Departed
E - Edward Scissor Hands
F - Full Metal Jacket
G - Gone Baby Gone
H - High School Musical
I - Into The Wild
J - Jerry Maguire
K - Kidulthood
L - Layer Cake
M - Memento
N - No Country For Old Men
O - One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest
P - The Prestige
Q - Quantum Of Solace
R - The Ring
S - A Scanner Darkly
T - Traffic
U - The Usual Suspects
V - Vanilla Sky
W - Wall-E
X -
Y - Yesman
Z -

As you can see, it isn't fully complete as at time of writing I cannot remember them all after losing a piece of paper with a list scribbled down during some lectures...

Oh well, I'll come back and edit this, noting those that I have watched so far.

Edit; Ok, got my full list bar X and Z...Bah. Any suggestions? xXx? Never seen it, but I can't imagine it being great. I'll do some more research.

Cheers,

Matt.

I Fucked My American Cunt.

The Teenagers - Homecoming

Brilliant song, have a good listen to the lyrics. Hilarious, but delievered perfectly. Never realised he was singing "cunt" until I downloaded it and listened to the song about 20 times over.

Song dedicated to Billy Gooding.

Cheers,

Matt.
